Hi friends,
It’s been a minute! I will be honest with you, writing has been gone from my mind for the last few months, and I’m just leaning into God’s direction and whispering over my life in this season. I have been working through personal growth with physical health and started therapy in December, so that’s the journey we’re prioritizing right now, and unfortunately, writing has taken a backseat.
Like Advent, Lent reminds me to slow down, read and absorb Scripture, and reflect on God’s presence in my life, no matter what road I’m traversing at the time. So, while I’m not really sure yet where my writing is going next (but I do promise there are many, many more words within me that God is cultivating for future projects), I wanted to share my Holy Week Guide with you.
Lent is different from Advent in many ways; it holds space for letting go, lamenting, and leaving the excess behind. This Holy Week Guide is a simple daily reading of Scripture and a short commentary with some reflection questions and a prayer prompt to remember Jesus’ journey to the cross after the Triumphal entry.
May you see Jesus’ humility as an example of how to navigate life.
May you embrace and release heartache, knowing Jesus walked the broken road in front of you first.
May you be honest with yourself, God, and your loved ones about where you’re at physically, emotionally, and spiritually so you can pursue the best path forward.
May you learn, know, and believe that Christ went before you so you don’t have to fight this fight on your own and that sin no longer has a hold on you.
Hope is possible. Hope has come. Hope died and rose again to be by your side every day so you could live the life you were destined to live.
I’m preaching that to myself. May this last week of Lent drive you to know God deeper and experience the sacrifice and grace of Jesus in a new way that actually transforms your everyday life.
And pre-emptively, Happy Easter. He is risen! He is risen, indeed.
